It took me a while to get this working so I just wanted to share it, if anyone was looking to so the same.
In this example I create a component from the datetime component that get and sets the date from and to US formatted date (mm/dd/yyyy)

I need your help with the attached snippet. everything works fine except, when I want to edit the date the calendar opens up on a different date than what’s selected, can you help me fix that.
