Formatting data in a dataview

With datatable I can specify a format and template per column.
Is there anyway to format data before it goes into the dataview template?

Here’s an example where there the year is specified as an integer timestamp. I can format the year in the datatable, but not the dataview?

As the template can be a function, you can set the conversion directly in it:
