Rich text undefined error on single "div" or "span"

Dear Webix Team!

We came across an issue using the rich text editor with a single div, or a single span tag.
Reproduction steps:

  1. Go to the rich text webix code snippet. Snippet
  2. in the html section, place this simple code:
    “”
  3. You get the null and undefined errors on the right.
  4. Also works, if you change the ‘span’ tags to ‘div’ tags. ‘p’ tag works.

Our scenario is that we had our own rich text before we switched to a webix one, and a lot of our legacy reports/products are already saved with a single div or span tags.
So basically, we get a lot of backward compatibility errors where we have/had a single div or span tag rich text cells in our products.

Could you help us with this issue?

Hello @DevAdminPowerON ,

This is a known bug, such single tag values indeed should be imported without any errors. For now as you noticed, such values would require a manually added wrappers, e.g. placing <span>value</span> into <p> tags before passing a value to Rich Text.

The behaviour improvements are already in progress. We will notify you as soon as they are released in one of the upcoming patches.
